Index Card Sketches

I hope y'all have had a good summer so far. After many failed attempts, I finally figured out how to post images! When I was in Italy last month I didn't have my paints with me but I did a bunch of sketches and drawings of the rooms I lived in. Here are a few sketches I did with permanent markers on index cards.

Some of these I made into larger drawings. I'll post a few of those next week sometime when they're more finished. I'm also going to start a series of interior colleges and maybe some photographs or sketches of my parents house here in New York.

em, you already know how i feel about your interiors. the painting of our kitchen... i'm your biggest fan.

these are great, who woulda thought of taking something as simple as index cards and turning them into such exquisite drawings. gosh. i love that in the third one, everything is kind of an outline but you can clearly see the illy logo. ILLY!!! and the bathroom one... you restricted yourself to the cool colors and it totally works, gives off that "bathroom" vibe.

o by the way nice perspective on the first one. you are awesome at slightly distorting perspective and i'd love to see more! more!!!

you are master of composition... can't complain about any of them. i admire you, manning-mingle. i can't wait to see what's next =]

i like the index card idea and making use of materials we used as children. i enjoy a "serious" subject matter portrayed in a playful manner.
